Bitstream Networks was conceived by Steve Kacsmark and Jeff Golenia in early 2001. Steve and Jeff were looking for a reliable, affordable, and most of all secure web host to host their individual websites. They could not find one that met their requirements, so they decided to create one.

Bitstream Networks uses the FreeBSD Operating System.
